Traditionally in our Parish the children celebrate the Sacrament of First Holy Communion on the first Sunday in May. This year, on May 5 2019 fifteen children from our Parish solemnly received Jesus into their heart. The day before on Saturday, May 4 2019 for the first time in their lives, these young parishioners received the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Thought the year the boys and girls carefully prepared for this important moment in their lives – with a sincere confession and the receiving of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Parents, Grandparents and Godparents alike came to support the children spiritually on their special day.
Fr. Taras Svirchuk, CSsR said during the sermon: “This is a big event for our entire Parish, especially for our faithful families. Approach Confession and Holy Communion often with an open heart and accept the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Be worthy in your Christian faith and show your children the right path to God”.
To commemorate these solemn First Holy Confession and Communion, each child received an icon of Christ the Teacher along with the Sacramental Certificate.
